About this place
Country house of about three hundred square metres on a private estate of holm oak woodland, about 45 minutes from Seville. It keeps the character of the original building: vaulted ceilings, clay floors, wooden shutters and antique furniture, with a wood fireplace in the living room, a games room and a private pool.

- In summer
- Air conditioning in the living room and fans in all five bedrooms, the kitchen and the living room. Every window has an insect screen, though it is worth bringing repellent. The pool is ready from Easter to October, with automatic filtration and irrigation, and a maintenance person visits twice a week. Because of fire risk, charcoal is banned on the barbecue at this time of year: an iron plate is used over the burner ring.
- In winter
- Open fireplace in the living room, with brazier table and heater, and a closed fireplace in the kitchen-dining room. Each bedroom has its own oil heater. The weekend firewood pack is €30, and the barbecue is used with charcoal, included along with the firelighters and matches.

The house is about 45 minutes from Seville along the Ruta de la Plata motorway. The last 2.5 km are a country track inside the estate, with several gates: it is fine by car, better if it is a high one and in daylight. After you book we send you door-to-door directions and the floor plan.

- Caseta de Vicente, in La Alcornocosa, the nearest hamlet: village cooking, with tables in the square. No reservations.
- Restaurante Jacarandá, in Higuera de la Sierra, 30 minutes by car.
- Bar Juanito, in Arroyo de la Plata: home cooking and generous tapas.
- In Aracena, Taberna Rincón de Juan and Restaurante Casas.
- Restaurante Javier, in Corteconcepción, with a terrace.

- Hiking trails around El Castillo de las Guardas and the sierra.
- Aracena and the Sierra de Aracena, already in the province of Huelva.
- Seville city, about 45 minutes by car.
Groceries
- In Aracena: Mercadona and the Segundín butcher, good for meat and cheeses, open on Sundays too.
- Carrefour in Camas, on the way if you are coming from Seville.
- El Castillo de las Guardas only has small shops: better to bring your groceries with you.

House rules
- Check-in: From 1:00 pm.
- Check-out: Before 6:00 pm.
- In July and August, minimum stay of 5 nights. Bank-holiday weekends and Easter also have a minimum stay: we will tell you when we confirm your request.
Cancellation and deposit
You can cancel free of charge up to 21 days before arrival. Within those 21 days the booking is non-refundable.
Deposit: €250, paid on arrival and returned by bank transfer the day after you leave, once the house has been checked.
